SADI, SIPS, Loop DS not the same as the duodenal switch
If you have decided that the duodenal switch bariatric surgery it the right procedure for you, before you sign the surgical consent form, be sure to confirm IN WRITING that the procedure you are consenting to is the duodenal switch with TWO anastomoses (CPT code 43845) and not the Investigational-Experimental procedure variously known as the SADI, SADI-S, SIPS, LoopDS or even as “improved” or “safer” duodenal switch.
